Soldout live at Palais de Tokyo...(8/1)

Watched a live performance of the group from Brussel named Soldout this afternoon at Palais de Tokyo...The group is a music duo including the vocal Charlotte Maison and the musician David Baboulis. Having released two albums in Belgium, the band appeared in the soundtrack of the film "vies et morts d'andy warhol" last year. They played in this live session their persistent electronic music. The songs remind me Goldfrapp and Primal Scream. With the use of analogue and sequencer, their music sythesises a deep touch of the electronic beat which suits perfectly a dance floor. Hearing their electronica like i dont want to have sex with you, i can't wait and mine is gorgeous. They appeared a bit shy though in the performance. Their video projection for the performance was promising and it definitely aided the touch of the sound in the concert. Reviewing their music videoes on their website, they seem to be quite a humourous group. The vocal of Charlotte is indeed quite attractive. Though they interpreted their concert an electronic one, they did play an acoustic song get out in debut, and aligning with the soft guitar sound, it is for me the best song in the show. The lyric of the song, though resembles a lot Nirvana's rape me. My first experience to attend an electronic music concert in a museum tells me that the methodology to feel the music is not the same. The audience appeared to be calm and quiet and I agree that they did make good use of their appreciation cells brought to the museum. (B)
