Champions League - Lille Vs Man Utd...(2/11)

Finally I had a chance to watch the Champions League live at Stade de France tonight for a Group D game Lille Vs Man Utd...As the 'golden', i.e. cashflow intake, league in the world, the French team Lille gives up their stadium in northern France and chooses to have their home game at Stade de France, the second largest stadium in Europe after Nou Camp in Barcelona. The match attracted over 66,000 audience and broke the French highest attendance record for a league game. The atmosphere was great on-site, and not surprisingly quite a lot of Man Utd fans were there making the home game of Lille less home-like. It was a nice match and Lille played high quality soccer. Their energetic stamina performance dominated the game and they grasped a chance to defeat Man Utd with one goal, igniting their hope to enter the 2nd round of the Champion League. After the match, I was amazed to see the French fans staying in the stadium hurrahing the victory, but the 'long-lasting' tranquity after the celebration for the fans was wierd that I finally understood the people were actually waiting for the Man Utd supporters to leave the stadium and avoided any conflicting scene outside the stadium. Well, supporters do have their manner after the game.

The only champions league football i have watched was manu vs porto, at old trafford in march 2004.

i know it's pathetic, but i actually prefer watching football on tv. the viewing angles are much better. more importantly, i like watching football alone.

bear in mind that football should be a game for people. You will find it more interesting watching with some others who share the same interest as yours...

I still have never been to Old Trafford but my initial plan would opt for the St Mary's Stadium first.
