When I say I enjoy the transit between Hong Kong and Kowloon via the popular tunnel with collective memories, I would define it as the harrow space with a spiralling effect of stimulation to the brain cells that perform memory, imagination and dreams...It is a moment where speed is limited in the hectic dimension of the business world in Hong Kong. There is always a red sign ahead of your eyeballs flashing, that determines a reflexive emotion of control and limitation. It becomes logical, and analytical. Travelling in time may not be rational if the tunnel is an open end to a flash back and recall. But throughout this daily routine procedure, men are trained to be modelable.
The transition also projects on a before-and-after deviation of the image and scenery of Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula. Geographically, the difference of the two pieces of land has been, again, logically differentiated by the history of century. People have chosen their preference of the use of land according to their frontier to the harbour and the strategic importance of the social relativity of classes.
So, in between, it passes.
