Sigur Rós Live @ Paris...(16/11)

The Iceland group sigur rós played live at Elysee Montmartre tonight. Having already missed their last performance in Paris last July, I got a chance finally to query how the band can play their music live...Indeed I imagine that their live at Elysee Montmartre should be a more entertaining one than their last one at Olympia. For me, Elysee Montmartre is always a better venue for a raw sentiment of music, and as expected, the music of sigur rós became a kind of experiemental live performance during the evening. The voice of Jónsi Birgisson is really stunning, and his sound brought the music of sigur rós to another dimension. At the show, I thought of the definition of heavenly voice, and surely the one of sigur rós is one of these. On top of the four members, the band included a four-lady symphony group for their performance. They played quite some songs from their two previous albums. The use of the stage was quite simple but impressive. Having inserted a white cloth in front of them, they played with the video projection as well as their grand shadows in front of the audience. Great! The band played a new song at the end of the show and surprisingly it's a kind of freeform prog-rock tune. Perhaps this would be a prelude to their next work...music is always amazing!!
