"European market seems to be quite diverse when it comes to national citizens" on innovative products and services is the conclusion of a recent Eurobarometer survey by DG ENTR. 57% of EU citizens feel attracted towards innovative products or services...30,000 citizens from the EU-25 plus Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey and Croatia were questionnaired and the result was quite diversed. Four groups of consumers were categorised: 'anti-innovation' group (16%), 'reluctant' group (33%), 'attracted' group (39%) and 'enthusiasts' (11%). Countries including Slovakia, Malta, Slovenia, Luxembourg, Turkey and Romania are clustered by the highest population of 'enthusiasts' corresponding nearly 20% of the sample. The highest proportion of 'anti-innovation', on ther other hand, locates in Greece (22%), Cyprus (21%), Portugal (20%) and Bulgaria (20%).
This is just perhaps another example demonstrating the variation of different culture and perception in the members of EU. Apart from the "oui" or "non", there are more to admit, accept and adapt. After all, these countries co-exist for centuries.
