The Party...(21/7)

Have been missing the piece of work like this from Hong Kong for quite some time, and luckily I can get a copy here and share the music world of the group for their 20th year...Following more the concept and formula of Anthony Wong's solo work, the new album of 達明一派 extends more the beauty of tragic enjoyment that existed in pervious work of "愈夜愈美麗". Aiming at making an album for Hong Kong people, the songs in the new album are the snapshots of the post 97 and the feeling of us the Hong Kong people in the complicated world. Elaborating the common goal of "萬歲萬歲萬萬歲", we have the "party" of the group. The debut of the song incidentally remains me a same effect of the work of the Avalanche. "同床異夢" and are nice tunes with inspiring lyrics. "24/7" is somewhat ressembling the songs of Pet Shop Boys. The 80's tunes. "寂寞的人有福了"...is that true? But the arrangement of the song is quite a traditional manner of Gaybird. "Wallpaper" picks up again the beautiful tune of the group like their early work of "戀愛季節" or "kiss me goodbye". "假大空" possesses a "what's the frequency, Kenneth" like intro and groove line plus the effect of songs from Depeche Mode. But all in all, the song is so Tat-Ming. "六月和十二月" should be the best tune in the album, while having a distorted and artificial effect of variation of tune, the song contains sounds of flute that produces a similar effect of the works of Brian Eno and Robert Fripp. Interesting!! If you listen the album in another country, the feeling would be even more interesting...(8/10)
