| Electronics sales satisfaction |
With 2004 a passable year for French retailers of top end consumer electronics - TVs and hi-fi systems sales hit Euros 6.4 billion - it would be tempting to think that the market would lag in 2005, given the insipid economy. Nothing could be further from the expectations of retailers, with studies indicating that nearly one fifth of all families are considering a new TV or hi-fi device. Additionally, 36.3% of households prefer to make their purchases at large chain stores, such as DARTY, Boulanger or FNAC along with speciality shops such as Expert or Gitem, according to a survey from research house Observer Cetelem 2005.
