Encore le spirit...(30/9)
After ages, I tuned up this Spiritualised album again today, and then putting aside the biased perception of a post-'ladies and gentlemen' repetition of formula, the 2001 album did stay shiny after a almost decade...with the gloomy lost in the abnormal weather this week, it is just a perfect excuse to float in the space again...

Cinema...(12/9)
Finally is the word to use, as the idea to explore the independent cinema in Paris has been a long-term goal since I first moved to the city some years ago. Apart from a few I went in the 7eme due to work purposes, I have been puzzled by the clusters of tiny cinemas in the Latin area. Today I went to this classic screening operator and found my memory in CineArt in Wanchai, largely due to the old foldable leather armchairs. Basically like a 'one-man' show, the cinema owner (I suppose) demonstrated his business workflow from door-opening to ticket sales, machine setting, film rolling, "air"-conditioning, film projecting etc in a versatile manner. Basically independent cinema is more for cinema-lovers, if not only film-lovers.
Long time thirst...(12/9)
A nice year with perfect sunny moment. This was a long time no taste sentiment. Balanced, still youthful, the tannin texture shaped a favourite of black fruit taste. With a deviated drinking pattern in school life, this is a retreat to the good days. The other time when I was properly tasting the Longueville wine was a 1997 vintage some years ago. It just happened that the chateau always comes with the good mood and mix of friends...
Santé.

Another Gig...(11/9)
Yet another awesome venue for good music performance. Centred in the heart of Bastille, I was here for Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan tonight. Not much any surprise, and the gig was warmly (actually much more than warm in an enclosed salle with all the people) held in good atmosphere. The voice of Mark was still as remarkable as his trademark, and Isobel was more humane on the stage as she looked like in the album photos...

Sunday Ride...(29/8)
5 Swiss Francs...(29/8)
I was strolling along the hilly road in the centre of Lausanne. I was curious and stopped by an antique shop. The display was full of old coins of different face values and design. I looked at them, and I saw this 5 swiss franc coin. The appearance was like those which are circulating in Switzerland. I thought it must be a memorable or a special edition one. The year of production, as shown on the coin, was 1968. So it was like 42 years. Then I puzzled, how come it would value at 500CHF? Was 1968 a very special year, or were there some samples manufactured that had deviated from the conventional 1968 coins? I remembered that I had a 5-franc coin in my pocket...I took it out and had a look. Mine was also a 1968?! There was a 'B' below the year on my coin, and I stared at the coin in the display again. It was small but I guessed it was an 'A'. It must be an 'A' and so I guessed there must be 2 editions in 1968 to make a rare one more collectable and valuable. I was hoping to enter the shop to ask, but it was closed...anyway, I took a photo. When I came back and looked at the photo again. Oh it was also a 'B', and so why? My query was never answered...I thought about my coin. Oh, basically I ended my day trip visiting a porcelain museum, and I used the coin for my entrance. Funny though, let me check again my upcoming 5-franc coin when I get my next one...
Value is a matter of 'used-to-be', I guess.
